Peter Bergen is a journalist, novelist, and producer from the United States. He works for CNN as a national security expert. He is the vice president of the ‘New America’ organization. He also works as a practice professor at Arizona State University. 

Bergen staged the first televised interview with Osama bin Laden in 1997. Bin Laden declared war on the United States for the first time in front of a Western audience in the CNN interview. In addition, three of his novels have become New York Times best-sellers.
