The overwhelming eviscerating sensation of loss cut my legs from beneath me that night, after I had phoned our friends to deliver the horrible news – and despite having shed an ocean of tears already that day – and I grieved as I’d never cried before on the deck and on my knees. Nothing could have prepared me for the level of grief that George’s death caused.”
