Biography of Andy Reid
Andy Reid is a well-known American football coach who is now the head coach of the National Football League’s Chiefs of Kansas City (NFL). He formerly led the Eagles of Philadelphia as its head coach from 1999 until 2012.
Reid was the Eagles’ executive vice president of football operations from 2001 through 2012, and therefore the team’s general manager. Between 1992 to 1998, he worked as an offensive assistant with the Packers of Green Bay, with whom he won a Super Bowl in Super Bowl XXXI.
Reid’s tenure in Green Bay led to his first head-coaching job with the Philadelphia Eagles, who became regular playoff challengers under his guidance. He guided the Eagles to six division championships, nine playoff berths, one Super Bowl participation, and five NFC Championship Games during his tenure with the team (including 4 consecutive appearances from 2001-2004). Despite his success, Andy was unable to lead the Eagles to a Super Bowl triumph, and as a result, he departed the club in 2012 due to a fall in fortunes.
Andy was also recruited as the head coach of the Chiefs in 2013 after leaving Philadelphia, and he managed to revive the ailing club, including breaking their eight-game postseason losing skid, which had lasted since 1993.
