Early Years
In September of 1980, Justin Samuel Halpern was born. His father, Samuel Halpern, is a retired nuclear medicine doctor who was renowned for being forthright and offering Justin and his boyhood pals memorable, expletive-laden life advise. Justin went to Point Loma High School and then San Diego State University, where he was a baseball pitcher. Justin came to Hollywood after graduating in 2003 to pursue a career as a screenwriter.
Justin worked as a server and later as an editor for Break Media’s comedy website HolyTaco.com while he worked his way through Hollywood.

It couldn’t have come at a better time. People were flocking to Twitter because it was a new media. There weren’t many excellent accounts to follow for fun fast doses of amusement apart from the usual celebs like Ashton Kutcher and President Barack Obama.
Justin had over 100,000 followers only a few weeks after starting.
Justin secured a multi-million dollar book contract with Harper Collins in October, only three months after starting the Twitter stream.
A month later, Warner Bros. signed a television development agreement.
The account had 1.8 million followers a year after it was launched.
The account had over 3 million followers at its height. It now has a population of approximately 2.2 million people.
The book based on his Twitter account sold over one million copies and spent fifty weeks on the best seller list, eleven of them at number one.
In 2012, Justin released his second book, “I Suck at Girls.”

William Shatner appeared in the CBS comedy based on Shit My Dad Says, which ran for one season and broadcast 18 episodes. When Justin’s father learned that the program had been canceled, he informed him:
“Well, that was enjoyable for me. It started out a little shabby, but I felt it improved dramatically. Do you know what program I prefer to watch? Cheers. That was a fantastic concert.”
Justin created a program for Fox in 2014 based on his second novel. “Surviving Jack” was the title of the program, which featured Christopher Meloni. After one season, Surviving Jack was discontinued.
