Bert Kreischer was born on November 3, 1972, in Tampa, Florida, to Albert Kreischer Jr. and his mother. Al, his father, was a real estate attorney, and Gege, his mother, worked in early childhood development. Bert attended Jesuit High School and then went on to Florida State University, where he majored in English and was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. “The Princeton Review” rated FSU #1 on its list of America’s best “party colleges” in 1997 during his sixth year at the institution. Bert got his start in stand-up comedy at Potbelly’s, a Tallahassee bar/nightclub. He submitted a video of his routine to agent Jason Steinberg, who invited him to attend several stand-up performances in New York City. Kreischer subsequently obtained a job manning the door at the Boston Comedy Club in Greenwich Village, and a few months later, Will Smith’s production firm offered him a sitcom contract.
