Feuerschwanz, a German parody band founded in 2004 by former Merlons member Peter Henrici and Fiddler’s Green violinist Tobias Heindl, was initially filled out by members of Henrici’s previous group before becoming a full-fledged ensemble. Henrici and company performed with Fiddler’s Green at different medieval events and quickly developed a following for their hilarious take on medieval rock, giving the band a historical basis going back to 1223. Prima Nocte was their debut album, released in 2005, and was followed by Met & Miezen in 2007. Feuerschwanz went on to produce their third album, Metvernichter, in 2009, with their live performance becoming quite a spectacle, with the addition of additional band members and a troupe of dancers and entertainers known as the “chicks” gracing the stage. With further touring and a successful performance at the 2011 Wacken music festival, the band’s fan base grew even more, and their fourth album, 2011’s Wunsch Ist Wunsch, saw the band finally reach the German album charts, although at number 95. Walhalligalli, the group’s sixth album, debuted at number 37 on the German album charts in 2012.
