She was married to former NFL quarterback Jim Everett from 1994-2009. Fredericka (née Hehr) and Leo Henry Brown had four daughters, the second of whom was Dickinson. Angeline Brown was her given name, but she was known as “Angie” by her family and friends.

Her daughter with Bacharach, Lea Nikki (nicknamed Nikki), was born a year after their wedding. Nikki was born three months prematurely and struggled from a variety of health issues, including vision impairment, before being diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome.

Dickinson turned down numerous jobs to concentrate on caring for her frail infant daughter, and her husband, Burt Bacharach, wrote the song “Nikki” for her.

She and Bacharach ultimately put her at the Wilson Center in Faribault, Minnesota, a psychiatric residential treatment center for teenagers, where she stayed for nine years. Lea Nikki went on to California Lutheran University to study geology. However, due to her bad vision, she was unable to pursue it as a profession.

Nikki suffocated to death at her residence in Thousand Oaks, a Ventura County suburb, on January 4, 2007. She was 40 years old at the time. Dickinson and Bacharach stated in a joint statement,
